Classes have begun! Join us today to get started on your path to self improvement and self discipline. You can call or text Sensei Oliveri at 309-863-5315, message him on Facebook, or simply stop in during one of our class times to observe or to join us for a free introductory lesson.

The best time to get started is right now. Many of our current students asked whether they’re too old to train in the martial arts, whether they need to be in shape first, or even whether they are coordinated or athletic enough. They all quickly discovered that there’s a path open to all of them!

For older adults, martial arts training can improve muscular and skeletal strength, and can enhance balance and flexibility. More importantly, research has shown that martial arts training reduces stress and enhances mental acuity.

Out of shape? Don’t get in shape to train, get in shape by training! Class calisthenics, technique training, and partner work make a great way to get a good sweat, burn fat, and build muscle. Martial arts training is a great supplement to school phys ed or athletic programs, and many of our adults find themselves inspired to clean up their diet and/or take up other exercise regimens to improve their martial arts performance!

If you don’t feel coordinated or athletic, don’t worry, we’ll get you there. We have several stories of students who started off feeling clumsy and awkward in their first few classes, only to surprise themselves with new abilities and reflexes as they rise through the ranks. Speed, coordination, situational awareness, and muscle memory are all trainable skills for students of any age.

Join us today, and we’ll help you learn what you’re capable of!
