Sensei and Patrick practicing jodo in a friend's zen garden

Starting in December of 2023, we will be offering instruction in Shinto Muso-ryu Jodo! Jodo will be included in karate memberships, but we also offer a jodo-only membership.

Shinto Muso-ryu is a traditional Japanese martial art focused on using the stick to counter the sword. It is a low impact way to keep the body moving, it helps develop focus, timing, and discipline, and it’s also a beautiful art! Anyone interested in Japanese sword, samurai culture and history, anime, or just looking for a novel way of getting some exercise may enjoy training in jodo.

Due to the required focus and potential for light/controlled contact with wooden weapons, jodo attendance is strictly limited to adults and mature teens only.

If you’d like to learn more about jodo, or if you’re ready to start training, call or email us for more information!
